Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United want to raid Chelsea for Cole Palmer
Liverpool are ready to battle Arsenal and Manchester United to sign Chelsea star Cole Palmer during the summer transfer window. Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City last summer and he has enjoyed a sensational season despite the club’s struggles.
The 21-year-old has displayed his versatility by playing in numerous positions for the London side under Mauricio Pochettino. He has played as an attacking midfielder, right winger and centre-forward according to the tactical requirements.
The England international has immense close control and dribbling ability to wiggle past the opposition in tight spaces. He is always available to receive passes and distribute them with his strong vision and technical prowess on the ball.
Palmer has been very productive for Chelsea due to the continuous game time that he has received at the club. He has made 37 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, contributing with 16 goals and 12 assists this season.
The potential financial struggle for Chelsea: An opportunity for Liverpool, Arsenal and Man United to steal Palmer
Football Insider (h/t Fichajes) reported that Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United are the three Premier League clubs showing interest in Palmer. Chelsea are currently 11th in the Premier League table and they cannot secure a place in European competition.
Furthermore, the London club could face sanctions from the Financial Fair Play over the potential breaches in the last two seasons. They have carelessly spent more than a billion in just two seasons without making any significant improvement.
Losing out on qualification for the European competition for the second season in a row cuts a lot of revenue. Palmer is their most productive asset right now and a tempting offer could provoke them into selling him.
Cole Palmer has been directly involved in 28 goals across all competitions for Man City and Chelsea this season.
Meanwhile, the Reds are currently challenging for the Premier League title against Manchester City and the Gunners. Liverpool have already secured the Carabao Cup trophy and they are challenging for the Europa League title as well.
