Liverpool Join £47m Transfer Battle To Sign ‘The New Gabriel Jesus’

According to the Daily Mail, Premier League giants Liverpool have joined the transfer battle to sign Palmeiras wonderkid Luis Guilherme.

 

The 18-year-old has been turning heads due to his impressive performances in the Brazilian Serie A and Copa Libertadores.

The attacking midfielder has made 33 appearances for the South American club this term and he is being scouted by some top clubs in Europe.

Palmeiras are known for producing quality talents like Gabriel Jesus and Endrick, who has recently signed for Real Madrid.

 

Guilherme is also gaining a lot of attention and his parent club are well aware of it. The youngster is tied to a contract until 2026 with a £47m release clause.

As per the report, Bayern Munich and Chelsea are ready to offer up to £30m for the midfielder. Although the price tag isn’t justified yet, the player has risen to the ranks as he was recently promoted to the Brazil under-20 squad.

He is yet to score a goal for Palmeiras but has scored four goals for his nation’s under-16 squad. Palmeiras director Joao Paulo Sampaio is very impressed by the No.10 and he believes that the goals will flow from the left-footed player.

“We played in a tournament in Japan and Luis scored over 40 goals. The Japanese players were scared of him. But Luis doesn’t get carried away. He knows the potential he has. He’s a very special player.”

 

Guilherme will be eligible to move to Europe once he turns 18 and it is expected that there will be a lot of competition for him. However, Chelsea are already ahead in this race as in the case of Endrick.

The only difference was that Madrid were quick to sign the latter and it seems that they also waiting to pounce on another South American sensation.

He would be getting a chance to learn from the best at Anfield and soon turn into a regular player. However, he would not be a direct starting XI player and will need to spend time on the bench.

 

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool are ready to place the first bid. He is a talented player and can be a quality player who will bring years of success to the Reds’ rejuvenated midfield.
