Former Liverpool manager and captain Graeme Souness could be making a swift return to football.
After helping Rangers find a new manager following Michael Beale’s departure, there are calls for Souness to take full control of their football operations. Souness, 70, spent “10 days interviewing several high calibre candidates” before settling on Philippe Clement as the Scottish Premiership club’s manager. Currently a free agent after ending his 15-year stint as a Sky Sports pundit, Souness is not ready to retire. He recently raised over £1million for charity by swimming the English Channel.
Former Rangers star Nigel Spackman thinks the Anfield legend’s expertise should be put to good use at Ibrox. Speaking to the Daily Record, he said: “When it comes to the owners, I would be saying, ‘Whatever Graeme wants us to do, let’s do it’. Graeme has a wealth of experience in football. He’s obviously been involved in football for his entire life at every single level.
