Salah is very much still Jurgen Klopp’s main man for the Reds. He’s started the Premier League season in fine form with 10 goals in 12 games as well as four assists.
But his current contract expires at the end of the 2024/25 season, and Lawrenson believes Anfield chiefs shouldn’t offer him an extension given he’ll be turning 32 next summer. Speaking to Paddy Power, he said: “They should let him go and take the money. You can understand him going to Saudi Arabia because of his nationality.
“I imagine that when he signed his last contract, given everything happening with the Saudi league, he would have known. I’m sure the club would be happy to say, ‘thanks for your service to the club, we’ll get £100m and you get plenty of money and good luck’.

“And I think the plus side of this is that Liverpool will be looking around in the market already for a replacement. They’ll have a shortlist of strikers noted down, but they do have four already, which is good for when Salah leaves, they have back up.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if the manager and the player have already had a conversation about it, Jurgen Klopp would be asking for him to give everything till the end of the season and then he can go.”
Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson reckons they should cash in on Mohamed Salah and sell him to the Saudi Pro League.
