The midfielder scored four goals in 12 games for Liverpool U21s.
Liverpool Under-21 captain Tom Hill has revealed he is open to a loan move in the January transfer window. The midfielder was given the armband by young Reds coach Barry Leutas this season.
He has appeared in 12 games so far, scoring 4 goals and 2 assists. Hill was also on the bench in Jurgen Klopp’s 2-1 Europa League defeat to Union SG last month and made his first-team debut in the 2019 Carabao Cup defeat to Aston Villa.
Hill, who played for Liverpool’s Under-6 team, is one of the oldest Under-21 players. He was in no rush, but admitted that it would be attractive to take out a loan to gain experience.
Hill, 21, told Liverpool’s matchday programme: “I’ve had some good performances this season and I want to build on that and not look too far into the future.”
“I just want to enjoy my football. I’m not in a hurry. If a person borrows something, he can take it, but he cannot exchange it. I like regular football and I don’t go too far. “Leading the boys was a great experience.
Being one of the older guys on the team, I think I’ve been here a long time and I’ve always been very vocal on the field. “Barry gave me the belt this season and I’ve grown with it.
I feel confident because Barry sees me as someone he can trust. Since he’s the big kid in the group, he can come and tell me if he’s in trouble.
“I haven’t changed much. “I just kept doing what I’ve always done: making noise on the pitch and trying to help 20-year-olds play.”
