Liverpool must answer new Mo Salah question but Jurgen Klopp’s perfect record remains in place

Mo Salah has put another question mark over Liverpool but Jurgen Klopp’s perfect record remains. Liverpool went top of the Premier League with goals from Davin Nunes and Diogo Jota after beating Burnley 2-0 at Turf Moor.

Mohamed Salah could leave soon, but luckily Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota are back in goal for Liverpool. Salah left for the AFCON after Monday’s game against Newcastle and the Reds will undoubtedly be without their top scorer and talisman. Núñez and Jota’s return to goalscoring form means his loss will be mitigated and the pair’s return to form will improve.

Nunez took the lead with his first goal in 13 games and Jota scored seven minutes after the rebound. Jota has been out for a month due to injury and is Liverpool’s fox in the box. Liverpool had to fight on all fronts against Vincent Kompany’s fired-up Burnley before Jota grabbed a valuable last-minute winner.

Jurgen Klopp’s reaction to Liverpool taking first place speaks volumes An unhappy Jurgen Klopp was furious at Liverpool’s “stupid” decision during the win.It was a night full of positives for Liverpool as their players celebrated in front of their raucous away fans.

They are back at the top of the Premier League and Nunes and Jota are on the scoresheet again. Klopp won again on Boxing Day, with the Liverpool manager winning all six of his games on the day. Nunez and Endo avoided bookings that led to suspensions and both were denied fouls as Liverpool reached the halfway stage of the league game. Klopp was named as the referee and Liverpool had two goals disallowed, the second of which was awarded for offside against Salah.

This made the final third of the game more awkward than it had been for Liverpool before Jota scored to settle the nerves. The assistant referee has a conversation with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. The assistant referee talks to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Kompany hailed the team’s response as Liverpool were expected to win by scoring five minutes later. They could have easily taken the point and Johann Berg Gudmundsson should have equalised.

It wasn’t the Reds’ epoch-making performance in their 8th game in 24 days this month, but it was enough to earn 3 points. The Clarets had some good moments but failed to capitalize on them and Zeko Amduni hit a pitiful 4-3 stoppage time, the first sign of their wastefulness. Seconds later, in the 5th minute, Liverpool took the lead.

Cody Gakpo made a good play down the left flank and Nunez fired into the bottom corner from outside the penalty area.
Liverpool should have had more chances and Harvey Elliott, one of Klopp’s five substitutes, saw his shot blocked in front of Nunez’s goal.

After an impressive shot by James Trafford, Salah received a pass from Gakpo and headed to the top of the far post. Gakpo shot over before Endo pulled the ball back from Trafford and Nunes was sent off for a foul on Charlie Taylor. Burnley’s best effort came when Josh Brownhill’s shot went just wide of the penalty area.
