Manchester United are one of the teams expected to replace Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager.
Last week, the football world was turned upside down when news broke that Klopp would be stepping down as Liverpool manager at the end of this season.
In an emotional video posted on the club’s social media, the German said he was “low on energy” and “can’t keep working”. As the news broke, former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso became the bookies’ favorite following his impressive performances for German Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen.
In addition to Alonso, Roberto De Zerbi, Julian Nagelsmann, Ange Postecoglou and Ruben Amorim were also involved in the action at Anfield. Sporting Lisbon boss Amorim was once linked with the United boss after putting pressure on Erik ten Hag.
According to Sky Bet, here are the most likely candidates to become Liverpool’s permanent manager (odds correct at time of writing):
Klopp said of his decision to leave the club: “How can I say this, I have no energy left. I have no problem with it now. Of course, I knew a while ago that I should have posted about it at a moment, but I have no problem now. I know I can’t do this over and over again.
“After all the years we’ve spent together, all the time we’ve spent together and everything we’ve done together, my respect for you has grown and my love for you has grown. And I owe you the least. This is the truth. .
