West Ham sporting director Mark Noble has been asked if Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is interested in England international Jared Bowen.
The talented striker has been touted as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah and has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League this season.
Bowen scored his 13th Premier League goal of the season as West Ham beat Manchester United 2-0 on Saturday afternoon to move up to sixth in the Premier League.
Fortunately for West Ham, Bowen recently committed his future to the Premier League side by extending his contract until 2030, so it would take a huge fee to lure him away from the London Stadium.
The Hammers lost 5-1 to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup at Anfield in midweek. Ahead of the game, Liverpool manager Klopp admitted Bowen, who gave the visitors a consolation prize, was his favorite non-Liverpool player.
“In the quarter-finals, everyone feels there is an opportunity to go on,” Klopp said. “At a very busy time, West Ham are a very physical team, so when we need to find players who can step forward, David is doing a great job.” said.
“They performed well again and were very impressive in Europe. They also had injury problems. If I were to play without Antonio, Bowen would be in that position.“[Bowen] is probably my favorite of my players. “It’s amazing what he does and how he’s developed.”
West Ham legend Noble has become the club’s new sporting director after stepping down at the end of the 2022/23 season. While covering West Ham and Manchester United for TNT Sports, Noble was asked about Liverpool’s interest in Bowen but said he was not worried.
“Honestly, it didn’t really bother me because he signed a new long-term contract with us a month ago.” Noble said on TNT Sports Channel:“I think Liverpool and Jurgen (Klopp) have always been big fans of Jarrod (Bowen). “It’s the way Jurgen builds the team and the way he plays.”
Asked by Paul Scholes if there was a release clause in Bowen’s new contract, Noble said: “I wouldn’t say.”He’s fantastic and we’re confident he’s signed a long-term contract with us because he’s been a catalyst to bring in good players and we want to play.”
