There have been big movements at Liverpool, with many leaving their posts, including the renowned manager, Jurgen Klopp. Michael Edwards, previously the director of football, is back, this time as CEO of Football at FSG. Richard Hughes, known for his astute transfers at Bournemouth, replaces him as the new sporting director.

Ward’s return and Marques’s arrival are part of wider change in Liverpool’s leadership. Ward had a single-season spell as Liverpool’s sporting director before his late 2022 exit. He’s no stranger to the club, having been there for ten years after his switch from Manchester City in 2012.

The club’s management structure has been completely changed. Edwards is now the chief in command, with Hughes assisting him. Also the new head coach, Arne Slot is accompanied by a team of coaches.

This reshuffle at Liverpool is more than a change of faces. It is an epitome of strategic efforts to strengthen the club’s position in the world of competitive football. With experienced individuals like Ward and Marques on board, Liverpool gears toward a future that holds exciting developments on and off the pitch.
