Liverpool set to sign £165,000  a week star – Report

 

Liverpool are still trying to consolidate their place in sixth place at Anfield and Calvin Phillips’ name is once again in the spotlight.

Jurgen Klopp is a fan of the England international and Manchester United have shown interest in signing him in the summer transfer window.

If media reports are true, Liverpool are set to sign Phillips in the January transfer window.

Liverpool are set to sign the Three Lions midfielder from Manchester City in the winter, according to an exclusive article from Football Insider.

Sources said Italian giants Juventus were keen to secure Phillips but the player insisted he wanted to stay in England.

The 27-year-old director was one of Gareth Southgate’s best players when England reached the European Championship final two years ago. Moreover, he also performed brilliantly at Leeds United under Marcelo Bielsa.

However, the move to Manchester City was not without problems as Guardiola selected Rodrigo for the 6th place. The star, who earns a total weekly wage of £165,000, has made 16 Premier League appearances for the Sky Blues so far, starting just two.

He is yet to make a PL start this season. Even Pep Guardiola admits he didn’t get the best from the deep-lying playmaker, who had to leave the Etihad to play regular first-team football.
