Liverpool should still execute part of Jude Bellingham transfer ‘plan’ after wondergoal reminder

Liverpool have finally pulled out of the race to sign Jude Bellingham and are splitting their cash instead of hoarding it all. But he can still fulfill his part of the “plan”.

Liverpool, long linked, have finally pulled out of the Jude Bellingham race early. In the months leading up to the summer, there have been reports that United are downplaying their interest in focusing on a one-man transfer operation. No one will ever know the full truth about what happened.

From Liverpool’s perspective, it would be fair to assume that a new midfielder, even one of Bellingham’s caliber, will not be enough. But whether he gave up the chase, at least in part, because he felt he was losing out to Real Madrid is anyone’s guess.

In any case, leaving the legend behind gave Liverpool plenty of time to pull off a great move and Jurgen Klopp is reaping the rewards. Bellingham may be thriving in the Spanish capital, but FSG may feel they have the right not to commit to a protracted battle with no guarantees in the end.

Only the club’s inner sanctum can tell how far Liverpool are willing to go to secure the next generation of talent. Some reports claim that an unprecedented attack has been launched. El Nacional claim the Reds are ready to offer the midfielder’s father Mark Bellingham a scouting position.

Although it may seem unlikely, there is a lot of logic in the conclusion that Liverpool would like to bring Joby Bellingham to the club. The Real Madrid younger brother joined Sunderland from Birmingham City last summer and has already established himself as a key figure in the team.

The Mirror have suggested that Liverpool could sign Jobe in the summer of 2022, leading many to believe that this is part of a plan to lure Jude by putting the two together.

Maybe so, but even if that dream died, there was still a reason to take my little brother. Bellingham remembered why this weekend. He started this game as a substitute and made an immediate impact, scoring a superb goal to secure the three points and send Sunderland back into the play-off places.

The only completion is a shot from the left edge of the penalty area into the top corner. But that was after a maze reminiscent of Bellingham’s older brother. A neat step created space for the shot and the execution was perfect.

In most cases, this was the end of the attacker. That’s not surprising, as Jobe Bellingham’s best position isn’t entirely clear yet. Although he has played in his older brother’s midfield position for most of this season, he has also played as a striker.

Jude Bellingham previously tipped his brother to make the position his own, marking him as a future Golden Boy winner. There is a reason for Liverpool to sign him now and make the most of him later.

Jobe has great footballing talent and is clearly looking to restore his legacy in the game. What initially looked like a potential signing for Liverpool could now turn out to be another future gift for Klopp’s successor.
