Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold signs new deal to team up with Jude Bellingham

Liverpool ‘s Trent Alexander-Arnold has penned a lucrative multi-year boot deal with Adidas which will see him become one of Europe’s top earners.

The hybrid right-back had enjoyed a long-term association with Under Armour having linked up with them in 2017. However that has now ended and he’s signed up with one of football’s global brands as he becomes one of the faces of the next generation.

His new deal will see him join England colleague Jude Bellingham and Barcelona ’s Pedri as the major names leading the brand. The 25-year-old held positive discussions with the German outfit and they see his capture as a major coup given his huge profile and reach, reports the Athletic.

Alexander-Arnold donned a pair of white predators, arguably the company’s most iconic design, during Saturday’s draw at Manchester City in which he scored the equaliser. The player himself has announced his union with Adidas on social media alongside the caption: “I’m back”.

A short video depicts the Liverpool star as a boy, where he wore Adidas boots, and details his rise and motivation. He said: “Whenever I had the ball at my feet, I made sure I had those boots on. Istanbul was what really inspired me back then. That game, those players, the boots.” He added: “Those boots never left my bag. I guess I always knew I’d be back someday.”

The Liverpool academy graduate continues to blossom in his new hybrid role, which has seen him become increasingly involved in the team’s build-up play.

Alexander-Arnold’s move forward now sees England boss Gareth Southgate regard him as a midfielder when he names his squad. He played in the middle of the park during the recent round of internationals and is set to feature at this summer’s Euros.

Gary Neville was among those to pour praise on the Liverpool man at the weekend. He said on Sky Sports : “I’ve been critical of him at times. This is a sensational football player, and a striker of a ball you just don’t see. Man City have De Bruyne injured, who is world class in terms of delivery, striking of the ball and passing. Trent is the equal of him – and he’s a right-back! Not a traditional right back, but that’s where he plays.”
