Liverpool ‘told’ Kylian Mbappe transfer decision as PSG handed biggest fear

The PSG star is set to expire this summer after telling the club he would not agree to a one-year extension due to his links with Liverpool. Kylian Mbappe has decided he wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain for Real Madrid this summer.

Liverpool were named as one of the clubs monitoring the superstar’s situation in France, but he was never considered a serious contender for a move. The 25-year-old previously sparked heated debate over his future by saying he would not agree to extend his current contract with PSG.

Mbappe is out of contract this summer and will reportedly miss out on a huge bonus as his exit is not in the form of a sale. However, the player plans to make up for it by demanding an astronomical salary. Those contract demands are in excess of £1.25m-a-week, around three times Mohamed Salah’s current wages, so the Reds have never secured more than an external suitor for his signature.

PSG and Real Madrid are the only two clubs who could actually sign him, but even Los Blancos may have to shed some players to accommodate his arrival. However, French publication Le Parisien reported that Mbappe has decided to change the French capital to the Spanish capital. He said no agreement had yet been reached, but that negotiations would continue into the summer.

PSG are keen to keep their poster, with chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi saying last month that a gentleman’s agreement had been reached over the transfer. “I don’t want to talk about the money or what the deal means. “This is not an agreement about money,” Qatar said. “This is an agreement between the player, the club president, the sporting director and the coach. “It’s not just a signed contract,” he said.

Mbappe has expressed his love for Madrid in recent years and has also praised Liverpool. He praised Jurgen Klopp for his performance at Anfield following the club’s 2020 Premier League victory. He said, “If you think about it, you think it’s easy, but it’s not.” “The players are focused, they play every three days and win, win, win. But they are a very good team with a very good manager.”
