Liverpool want a January signing and it could be enough to give Jurgen Klopp a treble

Christmas is over and New Year is just around the corner. And Liverpool have a shot at real glory in 2024. Halfway through the Premier League season we are top of the table with three more wins. At this point, few would have expected Liverpool to come back and Manchester City would have dared to say they had dropped more points than ever before. The combination of these two factors puts Jurgen Klopp’s side right in the middle of the title race. As always, there is a chance that Manchester City will continue their winning streak, but it is unlikely that Pep Guardiola’s side will be as strong this time around.

There’s no denying it, but the race to the finish looks real and Arsenal are in for a good shout too. However, if the difference is small, Liverpool will have to consider a move in January. Wataru Endo leaves for the AFCON, but the return of Alexis McAllister should be enough to cover Japan. That means midfield is not an immediate priority. For a truly elite player to hit the market, Liverpool would have to make a leap, but it’s unlikely to happen in the middle of the season. If a suitable opportunity presents itself, it may be something to consider. Above all, Liverpool must do everything possible to find suitable candidates for the defense. Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas are both injured and both are expected to play again this season.
Robertson is likely to be available until the end of next month and a new left-back will be needed in 2024. You should try it too and do it now.

Liverpool need to bring in a player who can operate on the left flank of the centre-back duo to replace Virgil van Dijk while giving them another option on the wing. Joe Gomez can play all over the backline, but not all at once. In any case, he will be forced to play every game at left-back for the next few weeks, with options in other positions sorely lacking.
