Liverpool want the Premier League to resolve financial allegations against Manchester City before the start of the 2024-25 season.
Football Insider claims Manchester United are “pushing the pressure” on the Premier League to fix the problem. In February, the city filed nearly 100 charges of violating its fiscal role.
They won the Premier League three times at the Etihad Stadium between 2009 and 2018. Liverpool finished second to City in the 2013/2014 season.
Everton were recently deducted 10 points for breaching revenue and stability rules. The Toffees were found guilty by an independent panel but admitted they were surprised by the verdict and appealed.
City’s list of allegations is much longer than Everton’s, but the clubs are said to be “frustrated” by the delays in the case. City manager Pep Guardiola admitted he hoped the issue would be resolved as soon as possible.
“I hope the Premier League or the referees will make a decision as soon as possible,” Guardiola said. “Maybe we didn’t do something right, everyone knows.
And if we do what we think, if we’ve done it well as a club for years, people won’t talk about it anymore. Tomorrow we’ll like it. . “
“I hope they’re not that busy. I hope the refs look at it and listen to both sides and decide what’s best.
Because at the end of the day, I’m confident we deserved to win on the pitch. I don’t have no doubt.”
