Indeed it has been frustrating that the expansion works have taken so long. Moreover, it was originally scheduled for completion by the first home match of this season.
If reports of a March opening are true then it means that roughly two-thirds of the season will have passed with Liverpool unable to play in front of a full Anfield. However, if the Man City clash is the first fixture after redevelopment, then it would be a momentous occasion.
