Liverpool’s three options to replace Mo Salah this month, as Jamie Carragher opts

The Egyptian scored two of his four goals as they beat the Magpies at Anfield to go top of the Premier League. Salah was the Reds’ top scorer during his time on Merseyside and had to go for the Africa Cup of Nations. Even in Salah’s absence, Liverpool are expected to maintain their lead by beating Arsenal in the FA Cup and advancing to the Carabao Cup final. His contribution in the final third left a huge hole that needed to be filled temporarily.

Gary Neville offers his Liverpool title theory as Jurgen Klopp tries to solve his Mo Salah problem. Mohamed Salah was the first half-time substitute to inspire Liverpool to victory over Newcastle. Jurgen Klopp continued to revamp his attacking options, with Salah his only regular player. Darwin Nunes, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota have all been used, but the Egyptian’s absence could give the player an opportunity to show his versatility.

“It will be interesting to see who he puts in that position,” Jamie Carragher told Sky Sports. “The option is Harvey Elliott. I think he is a midfielder. He didn’t have enough speed to play the three offensive linemen, but he was able to do it. But at the same time Soboszlai. “Alexis McAllister’s return gives Liverpool plenty of options in midfield, where Szoboszlai played at his former club.”We look at both options, as well as fringe players who have the potential to make an impact in an increasingly fast-paced game.

Ben Doak would have liked more playing time but injuries took their toll. Harvey Elliott. The teenager has been running at the top for years and looks in pieces. The teenager has appeared in 16 of Liverpool’s 20 league games, providing two assists and scoring just once. Klopp has long relied on Elliott to play in midfield. Harvey Elliott is highly regarded at Anfield.

The former Fulham man was widely deployed during his early spell at Liverpool and showed just how influential he can be during his previous loan spell at Blackburn Rovers. His creativity is well documented, but he lacks the pace of some of his peers and the team may need to play differently for him to be successful.

Dominic Szoboszlai
The Hungarian has made a huge impact since joining from RB Leipzig in the summer and could be asked to take on a wider role next month. Like Elliott, he lacks the pace of some of Liverpool’s other forwards, but his impact on the game is well known. Dominik Soboszlai impressed immediately after his summer move.

Szoboslai’s eye for goal saw him score four goals, but he limped off against Newcastle, leaving Klopp to sweat his fitness but hoped it was just a blip. Szoboszlei has played a big role for Leipzig and wants to overtake Elliott.
