Local students had an unforgettable day cheering on their heroes at the Nike ‘Game On’ event hosted by the LFC Foundation at the AXA Learning Center recently.
The Liverpool men’s team surprised the children at an event organized to celebrate the activities and achievements of the Game On programme.
Manager Jurgen Klopp and his team met the youngsters, signed autographs and posed for pictures, giving everyone memories of a lifetime.
The boys then visited the AXA Training Center before heading to the club’s academy to play alongside midfielder Dominik Szobosleigh and Liverpool legend Sami Hyppia.
Launched in 2020, Game On is a joint project funded by Nike and hosted by the LFC Foundation. The aim of the program is to help young people in Merseyside enjoy and access the benefits of local sport and provide training opportunities through a new coaching academy.
The program supports young people aged 7-12 and children of all abilities from disadvantaged backgrounds to join a range of local sports clubs and participate in a range of sports.
In the first three years of the program, more than 8,000 children participated and coaches covered more than 15 sports.
