Luis Diaz scored in additional minutes which leads to a 1-1 draw against Luton

 

Luis Diaz scored a deep goal at the time of injury, giving Liverpool a draw of 1-1 in Lutton Town in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Colombia got off the couch and went to Harvey Elliott’s cross in 95 minutes and got a red from KenliWorth Road. In the 80th minute of the game, the home team took the lead.

Joe Gomez, Dominic Szoboslai and Mohamed Salah were the only players to retain their starting line-up after the Carabao Cup match against AFC Bournemouth in midweek.

THE FIRST HALF

From an open start, both teams struck early, with Ross Barkley firing straight at Alisson Becker and Liverpool testing Tomas Kaminsky through Darwin Nunes at the other end.

Nunez was disappointed to come off the woodwork on United’s next opportunity. Trent Alexander-Arnold curled the ball behind Luton’s back line and his audacious finish hit the bar and found the Uruguayan who headed over after his first touch.

Jesus Cavore and Salah sent the ball inside the penalty area and this continued until the end of the game. Liverpool began to take more control as the first half progressed and a run from deep by Ryan Gravenbirch forced Diogo into a low save from Jota Kaminski.

But it was Luton who had the last chance of the opening game. Barkley sent the ball half-returned over the edge of the area.

THE OTHER HALF

There were few attempts on goal early in the second half but Alisson kabore had to be alert to win a low ball down the right which allowed Carlton Morris to break free.

Alexander-Arnold fired from distance in Luton’s best opener of the game so far. Chiedozie Ogbene missed several challenges and went into the penalty area before finally hitting the ball to Morris, who was denied by Alisson from close range.

The Reds’ two substitutes rallied quickly after being brought on, but Cody Gakpo’s acrobatic effort was only enough for Elliott to rise in the penalty area.

Nunez failed to find the target inside the six-yard box after Salah headed in an Alexander-Arnold rebound. Moments later, the striker had to save from Kaminski.

Kaminski attempted a Gravenbirch cross but a Luton counter-attack from a corner put the game on the line.Kabore Chong, released from the right, managed to hit the ball into the penalty area. But after that setback, Liverpool’s persistence saw Diaz beat a defender at the back post and head home from Kaminski to make it 1-1.

Alisson tapped in Kabore’s effort in the final attack to leave the Reds with a point.
