On the flight was a delegation from the United Nations took off from the Alfonso Lopez airport in Valledupar on Thursday heading for the Serrania del Perija, which is a mountain range between Colombia and Venezuela.
Addressing those congregating outside of the compound, Diaz Sr said: “I want to thank God for this second chance. “Thank you to all the people of Barranco, thank you all, I love you very much, I will soon have the opportunity to greet you , thank you very much.”
The rescue was confirmed shortly before 11am in the South American country. After landing back at Alfonso Lopez airport, “Mane” was assessed by medics before he was escorted back.
