This decision comes as the team awaits the debut of their recent high-profile acquisition, Luka Doncic, who is expected to make his first appearance for the Lakers on Monday, February 10, against the Utah Jazz.

Doncic, acquired in a blockbuster trade from the Dallas Mavericks that sent Anthony Davis to Dallas, has been recovering from a calf injury and has not played since Christmas. He recently participated in full practice drills without issues, signaling his readiness to join the Lakers’ lineup.
