Liverpool will be looking to build on a positive result at home in the Premier League when they take on Chelsea at Anfield on Wednesday night.
The men’s team recently beat Norwich City 5-2 in the FA Cup and will be feeling good ahead of this game. Jurgen Klopp is expected to choose a 4-3-3 formation in this match and make many changes to the starting XI.
Alexis McAllister, Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson could play from the start of this game. Alisson Becker will play between the sticks for Manchester United after scoring twice in his last game. Virgil van Dijk will again partner Ibrahima Konate in the center of Liverpool’s back line to keep the defense in line throughout the match.
Trent Alexander-Arnold could shine at right-back, while Andrew Robertson will hope to prove his worth at left-back. Klopp allows them to get forward and join the attack whenever the opportunity arises.
Conor Bradley, Joe Gomez and Jarell Quanza should be benched as they provide coverage at defensive positions. Curtis Jones, Alexis McAllister and Dominic Szoboslai project in Liverpool’s midfield. All three will need to move the ball well to create real opportunities in the final third.
Ryan Gravenbirch and Harvey Elliott will likely be benched as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second half if needed. attackLuis Diaz will stretch Chelsea’s defense on the left flank, while Diogo Lotta will shine on the right flank. Darwin Nunes will lead the Merseyside club at centre-back. Cody Gakpo could be picked off the bench and start to influence play in the final quarter if United need a goal.
