Man City and Arsenal set to rival Liverpool for Wolves star in the summer after long-standing interest

 

The Wolves forward has impressed with eight assists this season. Liverpool are set to compete to sign Wolves striker Pedro Neto, according to recent reports.

Neto, 23, has been sensational for Gary O’Neill’s side this season. He returned to form after a difficult season last year, recording 1 goal and 8 assists.

The small right-back impressed with his pace, technique, directness and quality. He plays in a position where top clubs will be looking to sign for their next signings.

Reports from The Independent and Neil Jones have backed a move away from Liverpool for Neto, and now David Ornstein’s Q&A has provided an update on Neto’s future.

“He is not expected to leave Wolves in January,” he said. Summer could be a different story. Manchester City love him as do other big clubs. “We know Arsenal have been respected for a long time.”

Manchester City have let Riyad Mahrez and Cole Palmer leave this summer and are looking to sign a right winger. Arsenal have Bukayo Saka in that role but could bolster their attack by signing the Portuguese star.

For Liverpool, Mohamed Salah is the talisman in that role, but if he leaves next summer with a year left on his current contract, Neto would be a player who would fit into Jurgen Klopp’s plans, especially given his energy and drive or. Direct play style.

His start to the season was somewhat poor as he was sidelined for eight games due to injury. He returned from the bench in the 3-0 win over Everton and could be back in the team shortly.

As for his future, no January transfers are expected, but if he can continue his strong form from the first half of the season, there could be plenty of interest from top clubs next summer.
