Man United told to sack Erik ten Hag for Liverpool great amid ‘outrageous’ Erling Haaland call

 

Liverpool will be keeping a close eye on Manchester United’s managerial changes while watching the unfolding events in their city with disdain.

Liverpool have had a good, if unconvincing, start to a busy week. After securing three points against Fulham on Sunday, United are well prepared for the trip to Sheffield United and Crystal Palace.

The landscape of the title race is currently fluid and the final game of the week could change significantly ahead of the clash between Tottenham and Newcastle on Super Sunday.

In what could be the biggest games in town this week, Aston Villa take on Manchester City, while Manchester United play Chelsea at home on Wednesday night.

The first of these matches will undoubtedly have a significant impact on Liverpool’s title hopes. Can City, who have dropped points in their last three league games, get back on track when they face a team that has won all of their home games this season? This is certainly possible.

United have nothing to worry about against the Reds in 2023/24, but it will be interesting to see what strange direction the club take next. Both Manchester clubs are never far from our thoughts.

Manchester United have sacked Erik ten Hag and said he should be replaced by a former Liverpool favourite. It will be interesting to know which managers are on Liverpool’s shortlist for the day we all dread – the day Jurgen Klopp leaves the club.

Although not an immediate threat, the Germans are closer to the end of their tenure than the beginning. Change can happen before we know it.

One person who should get on the scoresheet is former Manchester United midfielder Xabi Alonso, who has led Bayer Leverkusen to the top of the Bundesliga.

But can he move to Manchester United before Liverpool need his services? Of course, Kopites doesn’t want that to happen.
