Manchester City could be sweating to secure another key player ahead of their crucial game against Liverpool after the international break.
The Reds travel to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 25 November for their first Premier League game. Liverpool are just one point behind City and a win would further boost their belief that they can challenge for the title.
City are currently struggling with injuries, with talisman Kevin De Bruyne still recovering from a hamstring problem.
Meanwhile, centre-back duo John Stones and Nathan Ake were missed in Sunday’s 4-4 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Ederson (Brazil), Mateo Kovacic (Croatia) and Mathieu Núñez (Portugal) were called up to the Dutch national team. It is said to be unclear whether Rodri will play for Spain against Cyprus tonight (Thursday).
According to Spanish newspaper COPE, the midfielder feels “uncomfortable” and is unlikely to feature. Liverpool have had injury problems with France’s Ibrahima Konate due to a hamstring problem.
Neither he nor Joe Gomez were involved in the 3-0 win against Brentford. Ryan Gravenbirch (knee) and Curtis Jones (hamstring) also missed the win against Wasps but are expected to return to action.
