Manchester City have joined Aston Villa in the race and Liverpool have warned of further transfer requests.

 

Manchester City were the latest club to show interest in Nico Williams while he was linked with Aston Villa.

The 21-year-old is not interested in the January transfer window. He recently admitted he was delighted to have a “big team” following his progress.

Meanwhile, have long been fans of Williams and are willing to pay a reasonable fee in the new year to secure his signature.

The Athletic Bilbao winger, whose contract expires this summer, will be open to negotiations with other clubs when transfers reopen.

His agent Felix Tainta said the La Liga club have yet to offer him a new contract at Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Spanish newspaper AS revealed that the latest team to show interest was Pep Guardiola’s City and also mentioned Liverpool.

There have been rumors that the Premier League’s big four will also attend.

The report said Bilbao’s poor financial situation would make it impossible to engage in a potential bidding war.
