According to a Le10Sport report, Man united was following Yoro “very closely” before the potential attack took place. However, the report also claimed that Liverpool are monitoring the 18-year-old’s progress before making a move, meaning Manchester United will face stiff competition from their bitter rivals to complete a potential deal for the defender.
Le10 Sport also claim that Lille do not want their player to leave in January, but will want at least £77m if they have to pay in cash next summer. Manchester United or Liverpool would therefore have to break the bank to chase the Frenchman away from the Stade Pierre Moreau. The report claims that PSG are interested in signing Yoro, but Lille are reluctant to sell the youngster to a direct rival, so this would be a major breakthrough for United and Liverpool for the 18-year-old.
Standing at 1.8m, Yoro has established himself as a key member of Paulo Fonseca’s starting XI this season at a very young age. The defender is quick, strong, good in the air, can play from the back, has an eye for long passes, is dangerous in the penalty area when on the ball and is also good at defending.
The Lille star is a talented player and has the potential to become a top defender in the future. It would therefore be a huge move for Liverpool or Manchester United if the club were to secure his signature this year. However, Yoro is still young and has little experience playing at the highest level. So with Lille valued at £77m, it will be interesting to see if Manchester United or Liverpool sign him.
Manchester United are battling Liverpool to sign LOSC Lille star Leni Yoro, according to French outlet Le10Sport. Erik ten Hag, who has struggled with defensive frailties this season, is believed to be ready to fix the problem by bringing in a new centre-back. The Red Devils have been linked with a number of defenders recently, including Jarrad Branthwaite, Jean-Clair Todibo and Goncalo Inacio, but Yoro is also on their radar.
