Italian national team striker Mario Balotelli, who played for Manchester City and Liverpool in the Premier League (EPL), was involved in a car accident near his home.

According to Italian media, Balotelli lost control of his car and crashed into a wall in Orginuovi, near his hometown of Brescia, around 8.30pm.
No other vehicles were involved and the collision caused the airbags to deploy.The 33-year-old man got out of the car and laid on the ground to help emergency personnel.
Despite his car being described as “damaged” and pictures showing the extent of the damage posted on social media, he escaped serious injury.
Balotelli’s younger brother Enoch Barvois was reportedly training with a local football team at the time of the accident. He arrived at the scene, received Balotelli’s permission and took his brother home.
According to SportMediaset, Balotelli refused to take the breathalyzer test, despite requests from the police. After signing from Adana Demirspor in September, the Turkish-based club have now allowed him to return home to recover from injury.
The incident comes in the same week that Balotelli revealed his ambitions to return to the Italy national team, despite making the last of his 36 appearances five years ago.
It comes after the Azzurri qualified for Euro 2024 despite being held to a 0-0 draw by Ukraine in their final group game.
