Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed his support and understanding for Jurgen Klopp’s decision to leave Liverpool at the end of the season. Arteta believes English football should be grateful for the impact Klopp has had on the Premier League.
The Arsenal manager praised Klopp’s character, success at Liverpool and his incredible energy, saying he had made the league “much better”. “I think he has contributed a lot to the growth of this competition,” Arteta told a news conference. And I love what he does. When I see the emotions he puts into it and the human side with which he explains the reasons for his decisions, the difficulties he faces and everything related to our work, I think he is a very good person. Arteta also admitted he understands why Klopp decided to leave after a long managerial career with Mainz, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool. Klopp has said he will never manage another English team again, but Arteta has remained tight-lipped about his future. He said, “Not today. But I do not know. I played for two great clubs in this country. I did a lot of different things. “I’m too young to know what’s going to happen,” he said.
Meanwhile, Arteta has denied rumors he could leave Arsenal in the summer. He strongly dismissed claims linking Xavi, who worked at Barcelona after Xavi’s resignation, as “completely fake news”. Arteta emphasized his commitment to Arsenal and his strong relationship with the management, team and owner.
