Mohamed Salah will pull off a rare feat in Liverpool history when he scores against Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.
The number 11 has scored in all four of the Reds’ home games in 2023/24 against AFC Bournemouth, Aston Villa, West Ham United and most recently Everton.
If Salah can score this weekend, he will become only the third player in club history to score in all of the first five home games of a season.
The first was Harry Chambers in 1922 and it was 65 years before his feat was copied. John Aldridge was second in 1987. You can get your own Salah bucket when Forest visit Anfield.
The striker has scored a goal in each of Liverpool’s last two league games. He has never scored more than two goals in three consecutive Premier League games. Liverpool remain unbeaten in their last 24 league games at Anfield with 19 wins and 5 draws.
And United remain unbeaten in 27 games in all competitions at Anfield. This series dates back to 1969. Liverpool need two goals to reach 650 goals in every league game under Jurgen Klopp.
The men have scored just once in their last 46 home games – a goalless draw against Chelsea in January 2023. Diogo Jota scored three goals in two games for the club against Forest.
Alisson Becker and Dominic Szoboslai are the only players to have played every minute of Liverpool’s Premier League campaign this season. Forest’s three Premier League wins against the Reds have all been 1-0 at home in August 1992, March 1996 and October 2022.
Former Liverpool player Taiwo Awonyi is Forest’s top scorer with three goals this season, alongside Chris Wood. Former Reds youth boss Steve Cooper has amassed a record 33 wins, 25 draws and 27 defeats in the Football League since taking over at Forest in September 2021.
The Reds and Forest have won eight of the 15 European Cups won by English teams, the latter in 1979 and 1980.
