Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is currently on the Egyptian national team.
Mohamed Salah’s agent Rami Abbas Issa has given a surprising response to a tweet about the striker’s future at Liverpool.
The Egypt international attracted strong interest from Al Ittihad in the summer transfer window, with Liverpool rejecting a £150million bid for the striker from the Saudi Arabian Pro League champions.
As reported by the ECHO at the time, the deal included an initial fee of £100m and further extensions of up to £150m. However, Manchester United have refused to sell Salah in this summer transfer window.
The 31-year-old has remained one of Liverpool’s key players this season, scoring 18 goals in 27 games. He is also the subject of ongoing speculation about his future at Anfield.
And now, responding to Salah’s tweet in March that he wanted to leave Liverpool and move to Spain, Abbas said: “You just don’t know.”Salah has signed a new incentive contract from July 2022 until 2025, making him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.
Klopp said of Salah’s future in November: “Mo is here. He never came to me and didn’t want to leave.” “To be honest, it never crossed my mind whether we should sell it or not.” Yes, he is here.”
Salah missed Liverpool’s 2-0 FA Cup win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday as he is currently on national duty as Egypt prepare for their Africa Cup of Nations opener.
