Liverpool’s number 11 has scored five goals in three league games this season. He scored twice against Brighton & Hove Albion and Everton and scored in the win over Nottingham Forest last Sunday.
He joins a shortlist of six contenders for the award, including Douglas Lewis (Aston Villa), Brian Mbeumo (Brentford), Pedro Neto (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Declan Rice (Arsenal) and Christian Romero (Tottenham Hotspur).
