Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was not happy after seeing Ryan Gravenberch stretchered off during the Carabao Cup final following a bruising tackle from Moises Caicedo.
Mohamed Salah was clearly upset when Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s boss, blasted the referee after Ryan Gravenberch was taken off the field during the Carabao Cup final.
Salah, who is an Egyptian footballer, had to sit out of the match due to another injury. He was followed by Gravenberch, who had a rough tackle from Moises Caicedo, and needed assistance leaving the pitch.
The Chelsea player just got a serious talking-to from the referee, making Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, very angry. Salah also expressed his disappointment, appealing to the officials from the sidelines and speaking with his injured teammates.
Salah was also seen shaking his head. Despite Liverpool’s fury over Caicedo’s tackle, ex-Premier League referee Mike Dean believed it wasn’t “it is not serious foul play”; therefore, it didn’t warrant a sending-off.
Jamie Redknapp also offered his thoughts on the break and could understand why both Salah and Klopp were frustrated with the verdict. During his discussion on Sky Sports, he mentioned: “It’s not a great challenge, it’s extremely clumsy.”
“I think it always is worse when a player’s foot is planted. You can see here, as Gravenberch makes the challenge, his foot is planted. It looks disgusting.”
“You can see here, Caicedo is not looking where the ball is going. You can see why he comes off. It’s definitely a yellow card. I can see why Jurgen Klopp was so upset and disappointed with it.”

Joe Gomez came on to replace Gravenberch after a bit of a scuffle between Ben Chilwell and Conor Bradley just before half-time. Both players got yellow cards for their part in it.
The first half at Wembley ended with no goals, but there was plenty of action. Ex-Liverpool player Raheem Sterling had a goal disallowed because Nicolas Jackson, who passed him the ball, was just a bit offside.
Liverpool’s goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher made an amazing save to stop a shot from Blues’ forward Cole Palmer. Despite having lots of injuries, Liverpool nearly scored when Cody Gakpo hit the post with a header.
Mo Salah wasn’t the only big name missing for Liverpool at Wembley. Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez were also out injured.
