The Colombian attacker’s parents were both taken from near their home in the La Guajira area of the country.
While Diaz’s mother was freed, his father is still a hostage and has not been recovered. Colombia’s police and military forces are working to bring the matter to a resolution.
Diaz did not play for Liverpool over the weekend, but he is still in England at present.
He has been advised to not return to his homeland, as it may complicate the situation
Liverpool star Luis Diaz’s mother, Cilenis Marulanda, has been seen for the first time since her kidnapping ordeal.
