Though Dixon agreed to a deal in late June, his official signing was delayed, raising questions among fans. Trevor Lane of Lakers Nation cleared the air by saying: “There are tweets and stuff with Shams Charania saying he agreed to a contract with the Lakers, but that’s different than actually signing with the Los Angeles Lakers.”

Despite missing Summer League action due to his foot injury, Dixon ultimately secured his spot with the team shortly after Lane’s remarks were published. His ability to thrive as a pick-and-pop specialist and execute strong downhill drives gives the Los Angeles Lakers a versatile offensive option with room to grow.
