Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has denied reports that Victor Osimhen has signed personal terms with Premier League giants Liverpool.
Liverpool sensationally claimed they are ahead of their Premier League rivals in the race to sign Osimhen after agreeing a deal for the Napoli forward, but Romano denied the reports in the Italian media. Osimhen’s future at Napoli remains unclear as the Super Eagles star remains undecided on whether to sign a new contract after posting a video on his TikTok account mocking him for missing a penalty against Bologna. Napoli made a very significant salary offer for Osimhen, the biggest in the club’s history. Manchester United have been linked with the Nigeria international, but the Old Trafford side now have a centre-forward position thanks to the signing of Rasmus Hoylund from Atalanta in the summer transfer window.
Romano reiterated Chelsea’s interest in Osimhen and said the Napoli forward had not reached an agreement with any club. Romano said on his YouTube page: “Chelsea are monitoring Victor Osimhen. Some media in Italy are reporting that Victor Osimhen has agreed the terms of the contract with Liverpool”. “According to me, Victor Osimhen has not reached an agreement with any club at the moment, not even with Napoli.
There is no agreement regarding the extension of the contract.” “Osimhen will take some time because he has not reached an agreement with any club. Reports of a deal with Liverpool are untrue.”Liverpool, like many other clubs, monitor the status of many strikers in Europe.” Osimhen is currently sidelined with an injury sustained during his international stint with the Super Eagles, with pundits predicting he could be out for at least a month.
