Arsenal are on a back-to-back run ahead of their FA Cup clash with Liverpool today and cannot afford to lose their third game.
The Gunners have performed well in the first half of the season ahead of their final two games of 2023 and should start the new year on a positive note.
Their opponents will be Liverpool, one of England’s strongest clubs, and Mikel Arteta’s side know that the task ahead will be difficult.
Club captain Martin Odegaard has been unhappy with their recent performances and admitted they have performed below expectations. But he also said that the game against Liverpool would give them a good opportunity to fight back and they would be keen to take it.
The Norwegian told the Daily Mail:”I don’t think we’ve come close to the standards we’ve set for ourselves and the performances we’ve shown this season.
“But it could happen, you know? Sometimes, you might not have the best day at the office. We have to learn from this and come back stronger.
Time to show it against Liverpool. That’s what we’re trying to do.”Just Arsenal’s opinionIt’s good that Odegaard knows that we expect more from the team. There has been nothing to be happy about in recent weeks.
We expect them to be strong against Liverpool and knock them out of the FA Cup. Listen to our new podcast where Joe Broadfoot comments on Arsenal’s late 2023 defeats to West Ham and Fulham.
