Find out more about Luton Town ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Kenilworth Road on Sunday afternoon.
TEAM NEWS
Hats boss Rob Edwards has selected the same squad as last weekend, with Amari Bell, Rhys Burke, Mads Andersen, Dan Potts, Luke Berry and Jordan Clarke left out.

Luton’s key playersTom Lockyer was nominated for the first time. The Welsh centre-back takes an old-school approach to defence, trying to be everywhere at once. There was a player who fell on the field in the playoff final, but fortunately made a full recovery. He currently plays for Luton in the Premier League.
The team’s goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski has made at least one or two very impressive saves in most games and the focus will be on Chiedozie Ogbene on the wing. The Republic of Ireland international gave Tottenham plenty to think about at Kenilworth Road recently and it was an interesting watch.
Jacob Brown is another speedster and Carlton Morris is doing his best to perform at his best. Elijah Adebayo will look to do the same if he starts. Former Everton duo Ross Barkley and Andros Townsend are Luton’s most established and experienced players in the Premier League, along with Aston Villa midfielder-turned-midfielder Sergeant Nakamba.

Kenilworth Road…Known locally as ‘Kenny’, we’re sure Liverpool fans will love this nickname! – Kenilworth Road can be a real bear pit. Even when Luton doesn’t sing well, the sound can be deafening. There is a corner of the main stand where chants continue throughout the game and direct the crowd. These fans are living the dream, and Liverpool qualifying for the Premier League is another day their dreams are surpassed. I am sure they will receive a warm welcome.
The end is on Oak Road, one of the strangest entrances to a football stadium for fans in the middle of a terraced street. Luton have invested heavily to comply with Premier League regulations. Kenilworth Road is very old and is somehow right in the middle of the community. Many of the fans I meet love this place and it’s easy to see why.
Projected lineup (5-2-3): Kaminski, Kabore, Lockyer, Mengi, Osho, Daudty, Barkley, Nakamba, Brown, Morris, Ogbene.
FINAL FORM
Luton have taken four points from their last five Premier League games, including a 2-1 win against Everton and a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest.Last weekend they lost 3-1 against Aston Villa. Morris is currently the top scorer in the league with 3 goals and Adebayo is the top scorer with 2 goals.the previous meetingLiverpool have not faced Luton in a Championship game since January 1992, when late goals from Steve McManaman and Dean Saunders secured a 2-1 win at Anfield. The last league game played at Kenilworth Road was a goalless affair in August 1991.
However, the teams have played each other ever since. In 2006, Liverpool won 5-3 in the third round of the FA Cup thanks to Xabi Alonso’s own goal. Two years later, Steven Gerrard scored a hat-trick as the Reds won 5-0 in the third-round replay at Anfield after a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road.
What did they say?
Edwards snapped“We talked about how they could be hurt and the space they could leave. Obviously, we have to be good and clinical. At the right moment, act quickly and sensitively, or calmly try to avoid the oncoming pressure. Like any other team, they always give us something, but the key is if we can reveal on the day. So there will be a plan and we will try to take advantage of certain players in certain areas and hurt them. “It’s another chance for us to win the game like Aston Villa did last week. We know how difficult that test was. We’ve said game after game that we’re not going to be defined by these games. But this is a win-win opportunity for us. If we don’t win, this is our chance to win something. So we don’t see it [in freestyle] at all.
“Of course I understand the question. Liverpool is a big club and they are doing very well at the moment. They will be big favorites going into the game, but if we do things right and do what we want to see, we see it as an opportunity.
We have to do really well and have a bit of luck. Maybe they have to make some mistakes. But this is our chance to win the game. “Because it’s football, we don’t look at it as a free kick.”
