Pep Guardiola refuses to discuss Kyle Walker and Neal Maupay bust-up in City win

The win in west London moved City two points behind the Reds following Arsenal’s victory over Liverpool on Sunday. Manager Pep Guardiola refused to comment on the angry altercation between Brentford’s Kyle Walker and Neal Maupay following his side’s 3-1 win over Manchester City in west London.

England defender Maupai exploded late in the game when the manager told him to calm down. City captain Walker was ridiculed by the home fans about his private life throughout the game. Guardiola had a long chat with French striker Maupay after the final whistle but, when asked about the incident, Guardiola simply replied: “Next question!” he answered.

Guardiola spoke about hat-trick hero Phil Foden after Arsenal’s win over Liverpool in west London on Sunday left City two points behind the Reds. Brentford were the only team to beat City home and away last season, while Maupai were looking for a third straight title as they went forward. But Foden inspired Bees defender Mark Fleken to equalize for City before half-time.

The England midfielder gave the visitors the lead early in the second half through Kevin De Bruyne’s cross, before completing a classy hat-trick to take the visitors’ title fate into their own hands. “I said a few weeks ago that Phil has the biggest influence on the team,” Guardiola said.” He reads the game very well and knows how to play simply and aggressively.

“When he approaches the 18-yard box, he always feels the joy and the threat of scoring”. He is a special player. Due to his young age, he has already played over 250 games for City. It refers to the impact after its occurrence. “He loves to play football and as a child he still feels the culture of passion watching the players on the street. He loves to play and he has been very important for us this season”.

“About how to move in a small space. I have seen many good players but Phil’s impact when he catches the ball can score a goal. “It’s hard to find that combination of feeling like he can make a shot or an assist, and then he can get in the pocket and cut and score aggressively.” The Wasps took the lead in the 21st minute through a Brentford direct goal.

Flex actually scored a pass and when he let the ball loose he took the defender out of the way and passed it back to Nathan Ake for an Ivan Toney own goal. Maupay continued the momentum of the game, coolly beating Ederson to score his fifth goal of the year. “We know Ivan has power,” coach Thomas Frank said. “We don’t always do it, but it can be effective against teams that are under pressure.

Thanks to Mark, Ivan and Neil, they decided to do it themselves. “It was a great team for us. I must say! Our good performance. “We do a lot of things right.”
