The Premier League has confirmed the officials for Saturday’s Premier League match between Newcastle United and Chelsea (kick-off 3pm). Both clubs return to action after a two-week international break.
Newcastle went into the game having lost 2-0 to AFC Bournemouth, while Chelsea had previously drawn 4-4 against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

They include Liverpool duo Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota, who lost 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur last September. When Luis Diaz’s goal was ruled offside, two red cards were overturned due to a VAR error.
The VAR team of Darren England and Daniel Cook deemed the on-field decision an on-field decision. England signaled ‘OK’ and resumed play with a Spurs free-kick.
They immediately realized their mistake, but could not change their decision according to existing protocols.
PGMOL chief executive Howard Webb admitted it was a mistake by England and Cook, with both officials canceling the final match before the international break in October.
