Real Madrid trying to beat Liverpool to signing – Want to push Reds aside with January swoop

It seems Liverpool better hurry up a little with their pursuit of Sporting defender Gonçalo Inácio.

The latest news from Spain says Real Madrid should soon make an attempt to sign him, with AS reporting the Galacticos want to reinforce their defence in January.

Gonçalo Inácio is protected by a €60m release clause, and the story claims that price almost turns into an ‘opportunity’ to land a player of such potential.

Liverpool are named in the piece as one of the clubs who should compete with Real Madrid for the signing, and that’s one of the reasons the La Liga giants want together ahead by moving and sealing a deal in January.
AS is full of praise for the Portuguese defender, stating he’s a player who should ‘be dominant in the next decade’.

Liverpool’s interest in Inácio has been reported both by the English and Portuguese media. Recent claims from Lisbon said Sporting have no intention of negotiating his sale in the middle of the season, so he’d only leave for his €60m release clause in case of a January move.
