Pundit Rio Ferdinand has praised Liverpool talent Conor Bradley after his outstanding performance against Chelsea on Wednesday night.
Liverpool picked up another impressive win by hammering Chelsea 4-1 at Anfield on Wednesday.
The Reds were 2-0 up at half-time as Diogo Jota and Conor Bradley found the net, with Dominik Szoboszlai making it 3-0 after the break.
Christopher Nkunku gave Chelsea hope with a smart finish before Luis Diaz finished off the scoring with Liverpool’s fourth.
Liverpool remain top of the Premier League table, five points clear of nearest rivals Manchester City.
Rio Ferdinand hails Liverpool talent Conor Bradley
The star of the show was right back Bradley, who turned in a superb performance for Liverpool.
The Northern Irishman has been filling in at right back with Trent Alexander-Arnold recently ruled out through injury.
Maybe Joe Gomez would have been playing there had he not been needed at left back, but Bradley has certainly taken his chance.
Bradley bagged two assists and a goal against Chelsea, proving to be a constant menace up Liverpool’s right flank.
Jurgen Klopp substituted Bradley in the second half, allowing him to receive a standing ovation from the Liverpool fans.
Bradley certainly deserved that adulation and he has now been praised by pundit Rio Ferdinand.
Speaking on TNT Sports (31/01/, 22:30), Ferdinand suggested that Bradley has shown so much confidence since coming into the Liverpool side.
The 20-year-old was on loan at League One side Bolton Wanderers last season but is now showing the confidence to score superb goals against Chelsea.
Ferdinand has been impressed and can already see a strong connection with the Liverpool fanbase, believing that supporters really want to see Bradley do well.
“The way that this young lad has come into the team, the confidence he has to take shots on at this stage, the fans reaction to him – there is a connection straight away, you can see it, they want the young kid to do well and he’s feeling magic after that,” said Ferdinand.
Alexander-Arnold is now back and Bradley may well drop out of the Liverpool side soon – especially with a big clash against Arsenal coming up this weekend.
Liverpool know that they can count on Bradley whenever called upon though and at just 20, he may well have a bright future at Anfield, possibly even pushing Alexander-Arnold into midfield for the long term.
