On October 17th, we looked into claims in Germany that Liverpool had joined the list of clubs interested in Schalke’s Assan Ouedraogo.
A day later, Calciomercato claimed that Manchester United were already tracking the 17-year-old and that AC Milan and others could be competing to sign him.
Sky Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg tells X (formerly Twitter) that Eintracht Frankfurt have joined Liverpool and other clubs in the race to sign the young midfielder.
According to him, the Bundesliga coaches have already inquired about the player and know the necessary conditions for the operation. In addition, Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche expressed his gratitude to Germany’s U-17 team.
Plettenberg added that the youngster’s management is currently “in discussions” with a number of clubs, with Liverpool, Eintracht Frankfurt, RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Napoli on the list.
Ouedraogo, who has played 10 times for the German second-tier club, will not return to England until he turns 18 in May. It is currently unknown who will lead the transfer race and Jurgen Klopp’s side will face stiff competition to sign the youngster.
Three days ago, Plettenberg announced that Ouedrao will have a release clause of between 9 and 12 million euros for German clubs participating in next season’s European competitions and 7 million euros for non-playing teams. If Ouedraogo makes his debut in Germany before the end of the season, the transfer fee across all clubs will be set at €20 million.
