Syracuse basketball just got a shot of buzz from a bold claim.
Five-star guard Malachi Moreno didn’t hold back when asked about ACC powerhouses. He called Duke “overlooked.”
Yes, Duke.
The same Duke that just sent three players to the top 10 of the NBA Draft. The same program with five national titles. The one that lives in the Final Four conversation every year.
Moreno, who committed to Syracuse last week, praised the Orange’s rising profile. He believes Duke isn’t what it used to be.
“Everybody talks about UNC or Kentucky. Duke isn’t getting that same energy,” Moreno said.
That take sparked immediate reaction. Some called it confidence. Others called it wild.
Jon Scheyer’s squad enters the season loaded. Loaded with talent. Loaded with expectations. Loaded with a schedule built for domination.
Duke isn’t fading. Duke’s reloading.
If anyone’s overlooking the Blue Devils, they’re playing with fire.
