Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed the injury news ahead of Saturday night’s crucial Premier League clash with Arsenal.
If Reds beat their current leaders at Anfield tonight, they will go top at Christmas and receive a timely boost for one of their squads.
Ryan Gravenburch is expected to be fit to face the Gunners after missing the game against Manchester United six days ago with a suspected back problem, according to LFC’s official website.
The 21-year-old’s return comes as Klopp confirmed Alexis McAllister and Diogo Jota are unfit for tonight’s game. Liverpool’s injury list has grown steadily over the past month, so Gravenburch’s return against Arsenal is good news.
This is especially true if midfielders McAllister, Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Weiketić all play.
The £150,000-a-week Dutchman (Capology) is likely to start alongside Wataru Endo and Dominic Szoboszlai, while Curtis Jones may not return to the starting line-up immediately as he is unlikely to be withdrawn after scored twice against West Ham.
But his availability will give Klopp more options than he has had recently, with Liverpool unable to rotate as they would have liked in a busy month in which they played their seventh game in 21 games.
In a tight game like this, the depth of each team’s strength can be a deciding factor in victory or defeat. The Reds recalling Gravenberch will certainly help tip the balance in our favour.
