‘That’s our position’ – Howard Webb refuses to change referee rule after Liverpool VAR error

judge Howard Webb claimed that Var Daren England and Cook functions worked for 48 hours before Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpur, and Luis Diaz’s goal was not allowed. The tomatoes were destroyed by the legitimate attacks of Diaz, while maintaining anger as a full -time defeat whistle at the end of September, after the wrong communication between Simon Hooper and the Var team.

It was later revealed that both England and Cook had returned to England after a long flight from the United Arab Emirates ahead of the Tottenham game. The revelations prompted the Professional Game Match Officers Limited (PGMOL) and the FA to review their policy of allowing match officials to oversee matches outside FIFA and UEFA designations. However, Webb said no wrong doing had been found and he expected referees to be allowed to work abroad, the Telegraph reported.

Of course, we know it caused a scandal,” the PGMOL chief said. Webb continued: “Each application is considered on its own merits. However, we will only consider approaching foreign national federations if they enable the development of their officers and do not affect their availability to serve our competitions. “Such a request must be approved by the Board of Directors of PGMOL. This is our position. I haven’t received any requests since. No one has done that.”PGMOL were forced to apologize to Liverpool after the Reds lost to the Spurs. Diaz’s efforts deserved recognition. It would have been better to have lost the game 1-0 to Jurgen Klopp.

“PGMOL acknowledges that Tottenham made a significant human error in the first half against Liverpool,” their statement began.

Luis Diaz’s goal was disallowed by the match referee. This was a clear factual error and the goal should have been awarded via VAR, but VAR did not intervene.“PGMOL will conduct a full investigation into the circumstances that led to the error. PGMOL contacted Liverpool immediately after the match and admitted the error.
