‘They are not good’… ESPN pundit says two players are really costing Liverpool right now

 

ESPN’s Steve Nicol has claimed that Liverpool stars Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kostas Tsimikas are not good defenders.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are in a good position, ahead of Manchester City and two points behind leaders Arsenal. However, they were unconvincing in defense and Nicole Alexander-Arnold and Tsimikas were to blame.

According to ESPN, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kostas Tsimikas are not good defenders.There have been questions about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s defense for some time and Steve Nicol has now brought up his Liverpool team-mate Kostas Tsimikas.

Jurgen Klopp’s side deserve a lot of credit for finishing second in the Premier League after losing just once in 14 games.

But after Sunday’s 4-3 win over Fulham at Anfield, everyone will be talking about the Reds’ defence. Conceding three goals at home is never ideal.

Especially against a club like Fulham, who had scored 13 goals in Premier League games before Sunday this season.

Asked if he agreed with Craig Burley’s assessment that Liverpool have a weak defensive line, Nicoldan told ESPN FC: “I agree with Alexander-Arnold and Tsimikas because they are not good defenders at the moment.

“If half of the back four are not good defenders, it’s natural to give up chances and goals.”Liverpool need a new midfielderLiverpool have conceded just 14 goals in the Premier League this season, meaning they have the second best defensive record in the division.However, these numbers are a bit misleading.

Liverpool had too many chances. The lack of good defensive midfielders makes it easier for the team to penetrate and create scoring opportunities.

If Liverpool can finish in the top 6 in January, I’m sure it will become much more difficult for them to score, despite the weaknesses of Alexander-Arnold and Tsimikas.
