Watching training ahead of Liverpool’s Europa League game against LASK.
Liverpool trained at the AXA Training Center ahead of tomorrow’s Europa League match against LASK.
A win or a draw for the Reds would see them progress to the knockout stages of the competition. But a win alongside Toulouse’s loss to Union SG would guarantee Jurgen Klopp’s side top spot in Group E.
The Liverpool manager was leading his troops from their chilly base in Kirkby this evening. Manchester United’s injury situation looks very serious after goals from Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City.
Klopp revealed in his press conference that Alisson will be out for at least two weeks and Jota longer. Both have muscle problems.
Meanwhile, Stefan bajcetic (calf) and long-term absentees Thiago Alcantara (thigh) and Andy Robertson (shoulder) are yet to return to training.
However, four young people attended that session. Jarell Quansah, 20, has been a regular feature in the competition so far, while Luke Chambers, 20, made his debut in the 5-1 win over Toulouse last month. UK international youth can get involved again.
Meanwhile, Conor Bradley, 20, and Kaide Gordon, 19, were there. Bradley has not played this season due to a back injury. The right-back had a very productive loan spell at Bolton last season and Klopp has admitted he wants international minutes for Northern Ireland Under-21s. However, Bradley did not play for the Young Reds in their win over Burnley last night, which could indicate he will have a role in the trip to LASK.
Gordon has made three appearances for the Under-21s but is still on the road to full fitness after missing the 2022-23 season. Klopp said the player’s training session with Liverpool last week was “very interesting”.
He continues to train with the first team squad, suggesting he could also be involved. The cold weather forced the Liverpool team to wear winter gear from AXA. Some players were hard to pin down, especially Darwin Nunes.
The assailant had a hole in his nose, was wearing a hood and could only be identified by his uniform number. Caoimhin Kelleher started in goal before Alisson was injured.
However, in accordance with UEFA regulations, Liverpool did not register Adrian in the Europa League group stage. At least one substitute is expected to feature, with young stoppers Marcelo Pitaluga and Fabian Mrozek taking part in training.”
