Hull City loanee Tyler Morton says style of play was key in his decision to join the Liverpool club this summer.
Hull City signed Morton on loan from Liverpool this summer and the 21-year-old has been a key figure in Liam Rosenior’s side this season.
The defensive midfielder appeared in a total of 10 games and recorded two assists.Currently, the ‘Tigers’ are preparing for the playoffs and are ranked 8th in the championship standings.
Now, after just a few months at the club, Morton has revealed that Hull City’s style of football was the reason for his loan move.
He told Hull Live:
“For me, it was the style of play. I saw myself adapting to this team and playing with their energy and willingness to play from the back. “It’s a good way for me to play football and a good way to improve myself.
“Morton also revealed that Hull City boss Rosenior played a key role in convincing him to move to another Championship side this season after his last spell at Blackburn Rovers.
“He was a wonderful person to me and my family,” she said of Rosenior.”It was Hull from the start, that’s where I wanted to be and the quality of the players and staff was top notch, so I ended up going there.”
Morton seems to be loving life at Hull City and Rosenior is a big reason why. That is great praise for the manager and the player’s willingness to believe in his style of football is a hopeful sign for the future of the Tigers.
The Liverpool loanee seems so keen that the deal could become permanent at the end of the season. Hull City are an ambitious club and keeping Morton until the end of the season confirms that, but that’s a story for another day.
One result of Morton’s comments could be to encourage other Liverpool prospects to follow him to the MKM Stadium in the years to come. Morton and Hull are now focused on the rest of the Championship season.
