Trent Alexander-Arnold is close to making Premier League history.

 

The Liverpool defender is now two assists away from breaking the record for most assists by a Premier League defender.

Despite being deployed as a full-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold has shown remarkable assist ability under Jurgen Klopp.

The England international is considered by many to be one of the best crossers in the competition and his 56 assists proves it.

The 25-year-old passed United legend Scholes on 55 ahead of Wednesday night’s game at Sheffield United.

Alexander-Arnold took a nice corner into the box, Virgil van Dijk’s feet met the ball and he headed it into the back of the net.

The right-back is currently one goal behind injured team-mate Andy Robertson, but the Scotland international has the chance to make Premier League history with his appearance.

He will be hoping to close the gap between them and league leaders Arsenal this weekend when his side travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace.
